Chiropractic Care

We support Alternative Medicine

One of the most important ideas of the firm is that access to the health care of choice should be a fundamental right of a free people. We understand that many injured people want to avoid surgery, medicines and injections if possible. We acknowledge that chiropractic care can provide pain relief without drugs or other invasive treatments.

Some attorneys will discourage clients from seeking chiropractic care because they are concerned the jury may not be as comfortable with alternative care. There are some that feel that allowing clients to have alternative health care can hurt the case. We find this troubling. The goal of counsel should be to honestly and ethically represent their clients’ interests consistent with the client’s values and needs. Alternative health care does make the case more challenging and the client should be aware of this. However, our firm is ready to meet the challenge of presenting the client’s case as it is – not just taking the easy way out.

Our firm has been a leader in handling cases in both the personal injury and workers’ compensation arena that have some component of chiropractic care.

Keep in Reasonable

An injured person has the right to reasonable and necessary care. Although this can and does include alternative care like chiropractic, it doesn’t mean unlimited care. Like any other treatment chiropractic care must meet the standard of reasonable and necessary.

Work with the Medical Community

One of the most important strategies of presenting the chiropractic case is working with other more traditional health care providers. Talk to your chiropractor about obtaining a consult with the appropriate medical specialist.

Disclose Prior Injuries and Treatment

It is very common for the injured person to have had prior treatment for the same or similar problems. Often people that choose chiropractic for the treatment of an injury have had some chiropractic care in the past. It is very important that this is disclosed to all treating physicians as the case progresses.
