Medical Treatment
The entitlement to medical treatment is an important workers’ compensation benefit. As a result of workers’ compensation “reform” there are certain limitations that may have an impact on your ability to obtain treatment.
In some cases the employer and insurance carrier have medical control for only the first thirty days following an injury. In other cases the employer and insurance carrier may have established a medical provider network (MPN). In addition, you may find that your employer is attempting to switch you in the middle of your case from your doctor to a MPN doctor.
These medical control issues should have been discussed in our initial meeting. Please schedule a time to meet or talk with the office if you have additional questions about medical control.
